As a former high-level hockey player and stage actor in high school, a foray into Sports Broadcasting felt like a no-brainer. For seven years, Paul worked at a medium market television station hosting nightly sportscasts, as well as a weekly TV and radio show. Deciding to broaden his horizons, Paul delved into the News world in 2012, and hasn’t looked back.
Since then, Paul has worked in pretty much every job in the industry. Paul has launched a 24-hour news network in Vancouver, covered National stories for the Global network, and currently anchor the highest rated news broadcast in Alberta.
Paul has adapted and embraced the ever-changing landscape of the television industry using a genuine approach both on-air and off. His focus is to provide a product that’s both informative and entertaining, while most importantly giving viewers context.
We find that Pauls’ broadcast style truly works on any type of program. He can jump from breaking news to tragedy, to making viewers laugh; it’s that genuine approach that allows him to get away with that. However, storytelling is his true passion. Paul truly believes that everyone has a story, and feels honoured to share those with the world.
Paul has won two RTDNA National awards for storytelling and live broadcast, and has been nominated as a finalist on three other occasions. He brings both positivity and leadership into everything he does, and his focus on teamwork is truly unrivaled.
