Promotion to Morning Anchor
Shannon Mulaire joined WFXT in Boston in August of 2010. In less than a year Shannon was promoted to weekend anchor. As she continued to evolve in 2012 she was offered the co-anchor spot for the morning show, and that is where she sits today. Her work in the field and on the desk has been exemplary.
Previously Shannon worked at FOX 13 as a general assignment reporter beginning in the summer of 2008. Before making her move to Tampa, she reported for WFTX in Fort Myers, Florida. Shannon speaks Spanish and has spent time studying abroad in Mexico and Spain. She graduated from Wellesley College in Massachusetts, double-majoring in Spanish, and cinema and media studies. She later went on to earn a Master's in broadcast journalism from Emerson College in Boston, where she received the departmental award for excellence.
Despite growing up in the Northeast, Shannon grew accustomed to Florida's heat and humidity playing in soccer tournaments across the Sunshine State. In her spare time, Shannon still enjoys playing soccer, as well as spending time with friends, watching movies, and working out. If you have a story you'd like her to know about, feel free to send Shannon an e-mail. She looks forward to enjoying and learning about everything the Tampa Bay area has to offer.
